Things Graduation Ceremonies taught me about photographs.

So I worked at Loughborough University’s Graduation Ceremony last week, and originally I was meant to be on tills and then on the very first morning just as I was sitting down I was told I was going to be a photographer’s assistant instead. Now, the first couple of hours of the job were beyond stressful because I had a five minute tutorial on how to work the programme on the laptop before being thrown to the wolves, I mean general public. However, I grew to love the job, partially because the photographers I was working with kept me laughing all day, and partially because I got to observe some interesting human behaviour which in turn became great material to use for this blog:

1)People say ‘’That’s not me’’ a lot.

The phrase ‘’That’s not me’’ was the phrase I heard the most at the graduation ceremonies. I think we’ve…

Signs You’re British.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Britishness over the past week, and a lot of it is to do with the birth of Prince George. What I found funny was how some people were rejoicing over Prince George and others were saying how the fact there was thunder and lightning when he was born made them think of ”The Omen”. It shows that being British does not mean you support the monarchy which got me thinking about things that make people British, such as:

Five phrases that are never great to hear.

There are some phrases which are great to hear, ”You’re all done” after spending five minutes gritting your teeth when getting a new piercing and ”Would you like a cup of tea?”. Whilst they have not been too dramatic like ”You failed second year” or ”You’re sacked” but nevertheless they aren’t fantastic to hear:

1) ”I work as a bouncer in the Union.”

So when I started my job last month I started talking to one of the guys, and it as all great because we both bonded over how tough it is being a Northerner at university. Now, imagine my horror when he says ”I also work as a bouncer in the union”. My face literally went like Raven’s off That’s so Raven when she has a psychic vision as my entire night life at university…
